WEFT calls for effective Textiles EPR System – and supports businesses to prepare

WEFT has brought together some leading voices from across the UK fashion and textiles sector in a new short film calling on the government to outline their plans for a Textiles Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system that is co-designed with industry.
Featuring Marks & Spencer, N Brown, UKFT and Margaret Howell, the film reflects a rare moment of alignment across industry: Textiles EPR is needed – and this is our one chance to get it right.
As the government prepares to respond to recommendations from the Circular Economy Task Force this Spring, the stakes are high: an effective system would unlock investment, infrastructure and circularity at scale – while a poorly designed system risks unnecessary cost and complexity for businesses, particularly SMEs.
WEFT, alongside UKFT, BRC, BFC and WRAP are amongst leading experts caled upon to inform the evidence gathered by the Taskforce.
