Education
Introduction - What is education?
WEFT uses with a very broad educational concept, if we can help anyone understand or learn something
about Fair Trade, then that step, however tiny, is education.
Education - via the Shop
And therefore the impact of WEFT has been massive. Showing people Fair Trade and Fairtrade products, talking about the issues,
and doing this six days per week 50 days per year, is the track record.
Equally, taking products to church once a month and promoting the Fair Trade message has been another educational bedrock.
Taking the laptop and beamer to talk about Bishopston Trading (Tailors) and Divine Chocolate (Farmers)
is education in the best sense of the word.
Education - out and about
Taking the laptop and beamer to talk about Bishopston Trading (Tailors) and Divine Chocolate (Farmers)
is education in the best sense of the word.
Similarly, talking up the issues of Fairtrade labelling, the problem of supermarkets, demographics and social change -
people become excited when they realise that every purchase makes a difference, positively for ethical products, negatively for exploitative products.
Education - Campaigns
Our biggest campaign was "Hull - Fairtrade City", with many dimensions, and widescale impact.
The reverberations of Fairtrade City and Wilberforce year (2007) celebrations have not yet died away.
Education - Printed material and internet
Posters, leaflets, cards, etc., - all contribute to someone somewhere knowing something new about Fair Trade.
Educational Resources
WEFT has an extensive library of DVDs posters, games, books, etc.
Contact us, we may be able to help.
